This forum is mandatory! In simpler terms, you MUST read everything in here before even proceeding to make a character. Also because this is an au forum you MUST read the plot before anything. You may not just make a canon character, guidelines are to be followed in the claim a canon thread. We will also provide extra information for some canons, so it will concede with our plot.
Golly, hold your horses! This is Rita Skeeter's domain. You know that hot young reporter, who all the guys are dying to date. The woman is married to her work though, and has a keen eye for stories. Not to mention outrageous lies. Want to keep updated on the latest death eater attack? Getting scared about Lord Voldemort's reign of terror? Check out the news here. She may even slip in some rather juicy gossip in about Hogwarts. We wouldn't put it past her at all, keep on the lookout students! We don't want your most revealing secret sprawled out all over the newspapers now, do we?
So you want to make a character? You my friend came to the right place. Not only do we not have any bans at the moment, theres also free reign at those specific canons. The ones that pave our new future. Be sure to read the plot AND how to claim a canon. Originals are loved of course, death eaters even more. The world isn't filled with pansies right? Hop on down to the sorting and climb your way to success.
BAM! Well hello there, you have reached the home of the accepted applications. All applications will be sorted and verified. We do not lock the posts so if you would like to update anything you may do so. You must not under any circumstances post your applications here, unless we say so of course.
All characters need development, whether you believe they do or not haha. The claims are found here, as well as any form of writing. Plot ads can be made here, you're welcome to the thread trackers and get a hold of the wanted ads. There is always a need for more characters right? More students means more house points for your house silly! Get cracking and sort your character out eh?
Gosh we love feedback, improving this site is our number one goal. If you're just visiting the site and wanting to give some pointers, this is a guest friendly forum. So you can post obviously. Advice is always welcome here also, and questions about the site can be answered here. Don't be afraid to speak up. An admin will get back to you shortly, so don't sweat it.
Here's the house points! We have a nice little system that we wish to use. It gives members a chance to earn some house points without having to really 'try hard.' Well we like to think that. Professor's are kind of stingy we know, and the prefects like to abuse their powers! The horror! Don't worry you get five house points for your house when you sign up with a student. That's right five! So mainly everyone will gain house points for their house.
Hello and welcome, this is the vote of the month forum. Where members vote for their favourite of each category. We ask you not to vote for yourself, the vote will not be permitted and you will lose any other votes you may have casted. Admins and mods can participate in these events, and can be voted for.
You're off to see the wizard the wonderful wizard of oz...oh hello there. Absence board here and accounted for. You must post in here if you have to be away for more than 3-4 days. It's very considerate if you do, and if theres an activity check and you miss it...well you know. Don't forget to give us a heads up when you're back! Oh how Rita will miss getting her scoop on you.
Well this here is our CHARACTER member gallery. Show off some muggle clothing, pictures with your friends! We don't care what you do. Crack open the kiddie pictures and embarrass your friends. Doesn't get much better than that right?
Yep you guessed it, here is where the admins hang about and plot their evil doings. XD Haha no really, this is the place where we discuss ideas, and sometimes the lovely ideas of our perfect members. It is for our eyes only bahaahah. So no peeking. xD
King's Cross Station is considered one of the main train stations to serve London, England. Students of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry take the scarlet steam engine named the Hogwarts Express to Hogwarts from Platform 9¾ on September the first at eleven o'clock sharp. It also serves as a major intercity and commuter rail hub for Muggles going to North London, or Yorkshire and the North East and Scotland.
Diagon Alley is a wizarding street and shopping area located in London, England behind a pub called the Leaky Cauldron. Inside the alley is an assortment of restaurants, shops, and other sights.
Knockturn Alley is a shopping area off Diagon Alley in London. It is filled with shops devoted to the Dark Arts, including Borgin and Burkes, which specialises in objects that have curious and strong magical properties.
Hogsmeade Village, or simply Hogsmeade is the only all-Wizarding village in Britain. It was founded by Hengist of Woodcroft. Hogsmeade is located at the northwest of Hogwarts Castle. Students may sometimes come on weekend trips, but only third year students and above with guardian permission are allowed to visit. Mainly, students frequent a high street in the Village which contains the named specialty shops and pubs in the series. Otherwise, they wander on to observe the infamous Shrieking Shack.
The Ministry of Magic is the governing body for the magical community of Britain. Its headquarters is in central London, deep underground. It is headed by the Minister for Magic. The current Minister in Britain is Kingsley Shacklebolt. It is known that other countries have their own Ministries of Magic.
St Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries is a wizarding hospital in London, England. It was founded by famous Healer Mungo Bonham in the 1600s. The emblem of St Mungo's is a wand crossed with a bone. To enter the premises, one may step through the window of what appears to be a red-bricked, condemned department store called Purge and Dowse, Ltd. This acts as a magical gateway to the main building, much like the barrier at King's Cross Station to Platform 9¾. The interior, on the other hand, looks exactly as a hospital should.
Azkaban is a wizarding prison located on an island in the middle of the North Sea. Presumably, this prison is only used by magical Britain, as there are other wizarding prisons elsewhere such as Nurmengard. Using certain Charms, the prison is hidden from the muggle world, and is unplottable. It is widely regarded as a horrible place, given that its guards, Dementors, cause great suffering to those in their proximity. Most prisoners eventually go insane, and slowly die away.
The Riddle House is a manor house in Little Hangleton that was home to Thomas, Mary and Tom Riddle, Lord Voldemort's paternal family. Their mansion was perched atop a hill overlooking the village. Voldemort murdered his grandparents and father in the Riddle House in 1943. It is now the hideout for our notorious Lord Voldemort and his followers. Generally the dark lord moves his whereabouts, so where he is located is actually unknown.
This is only usually used when a match is on. Though it does hold one off private lessons for children. It is open to the public, but it rarely gets any visitors unless a game of quidditch is being held.
For all your housing needs! Students need somewhere to come home to, adults do also. Housing can be ordered in the claims. Students can alter from the main plot to give them chance to go home. You may do as you wish.
London is the capital of, as well as the largest and most populated city of England and the United Kingdom. A major settlement for two millennia, its history goes back to its founding by the Romans, who called it Londinium. London's core, the ancient City of London, the 'square mile', retains its mediaeval boundaries. Since at least the nineteenth century, the name "London" has also referred to the metropolis developed around it. Today, the bulk of this conurbation forms the London region and the Greater London administrative area, with its own elected mayor and assembly.
North West England is one of the nine official regions of England. It comprises five ceremonial counties of England – Cumbria, Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside, and Cheshire. North West England is bounded on the west by the Irish Sea and on the east by The Pennines mountain range. The region extends from the Scottish Borders in the north to the Welsh Mountains in the south. Two large conurbations, centred on the cities of Liverpool and Manchester, occupy the south of the region and are its largest centres of population. The north of the region, including northern Lancashire and Cumbria, is largely rural.
North East England is one of the nine official regions of England and comprises the combined area of Northumberland, County Durham, Tyne and Wear, and Tees Valley (including parts of North Yorkshire). The historic name for North East England is Northumbria and whilst a few regional bodies still use this name, it is rarely used in everyday conversation. The significant cities and towns in the region are: Newcastle upon Tyne, Sunderland, Durham, Middlesbrough, Stockton-on-Tees, Hartlepool and Darlington.
The English Midlands, or the Midlands is the traditional name for the area comprising central England that broadly corresponds to the early medieval Kingdom of Mercia. It borders Southern England, Northern England, East Anglia and Wales. Its largest city is Birmingham, and it was an important location for the Industrial Revolution of the 18th and 19th centuries. The greater part of the area is now administered as the Government Office Regions of the West Midlands and East Midlands, though parts of the traditional Midlands are also in surrounding regions, namely Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Peterborough (East of England), Oxfordshire (South East), Gloucestershire (South West) and Northern Lincolnshire (Yorkshire and the Humber).
South East England is one of the nine official regions of England. Its boundaries include Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, East Sussex, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Kent, Oxfordshire, Surrey and West Sussex. In common usage, however, the area referred to as the 'south east' can vary considerably.
South West England is one of the regions of England. It is the largest such region in terms of area, covering 9,200 square miles (23,828 km2) including Bristol, Gloucestershire, Somerset, Dorset, Wiltshire, Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. The size of the region is shown by the fact that the northern part of Gloucestershire, near Chipping Campden, is as close to the Scottish border as it is to the tip of Cornwall. The largest city is Bristol, and other major urban centres include Plymouth, Swindon, Bournemouth, Gloucester, and Exeter. Traditionally, the South West of England has been well known for producing Cheddar cheese, which originated in the Somerset village of Cheddar, for Devon cream teas, and for cider. It is now probably equally well known as the home of the the Glastonbury festival. Two National Parks and four World Heritage Sites, including Stonehenge, fall within the region's boundaries.
Scotland is a country that is part of the United Kingdom. Occupying the northern third of the island of Great Britain, it shares a border with England to the south and is bounded by the North Sea to the east, the Atlantic Ocean to the north and west, and the North Channel and Irish Sea to the southwest. In addition to the mainland, Scotland consists of over 790 islands including the Northern Isles and the Hebrides. Edinburgh, the country's capital and second largest city, is one of Europe's largest financial centres. Edinburgh was the hub of the Scottish Enlightenment of the 18th century, which transformed Scotland into one of the commercial, intellectual and industrial powerhouses of Europe. Glasgow, Scotland's largest city, was once one of the world's leading industrial cities and now lies at the centre of the Greater Glasgow conurbation. Scottish waters consist of a large sector of the North Atlantic and the North Sea, containing the largest oil reserves in the European Union. This has given Aberdeen, the third largest city in Scotland, the title of Europe's oil capital.
Northern Ireland is one of the four countries of the United Kingdom. Situated in the north-east of the island of Ireland, it shares a border with the Republic of Ireland to the south and west. Northern Ireland consists of six of the traditional nine counties of the historic Irish province of Ulster. It was created as a distinct division of the United Kingdom on 3 May 1921 under the Government of Ireland Act 1920,[6] though its constitutional roots lie in the 1800 Act of Union between Great Britain and Ireland. For over 50 years it had its own devolved government and parliament. These institutions were suspended in 1972 and abolished in 1973. Repeated attempts to restore self-government finally resulted in the establishment of the present-day Northern Ireland Executive and Northern Ireland Assembly. The Assembly operates on consociational democracy principles requiring cross-community support.
Ireland, officially described as the Republic of Ireland, is a country in north-western Europe. The modern sovereign state occupies about five-sixths of the island of Ireland, which was partitioned on 3 May 1921. It is a parliamentary democracy and a republic. It is bordered by Northern Ireland, a part of the United Kingdom, to the north east, the Irish Sea to the east, St George's Channel to the south-east, the Celtic Sea to the south and by the Atlantic Ocean to the west and north. The Irish Free State state was established in 1922, as a dominion within the British Commonwealth, and gained increasing sovereignty through the Statute of Westminster and the abdication crisis of 1936. A new constitution was introduced in 1937 that declared an entirely sovereign state and named it simply as Ireland. In 1949 the last formal link with the UK[12] was severed when Ireland became a republic and left the British Commonwealth, having already ceased to participate in that organisation for several years.
Wales is a country that is part of the United Kingdom, bordered by England to its east, and the Atlantic Ocean and Irish Sea to its west. Wales has a population estimated at three million and is officially bilingual; both Welsh and English have equal status and bilingual signs are the norm throughout the land. For the majority English is their only language, although the once-steady decline in Welsh speaking has reversed over recent years, with the total of Welsh speakers currently estimated to be around 20% of the population.
